Todokanu Omoi.
In english it would roughly translate to “unreachable thoughts” but to make more sense it’s “thought’s that can’t be delivered”.
I got the idea from a song performed by the Three Lights in Sailor Moon Sailor Stars. The music was actually very J-pop and upbeat. But once you realize the meaning of the song it’s actually kind of sad.
One line that truly strikes a nerve is:
Motto deai ga hayakereba to
Iiwake bakari mitsuketeru
Which translates to:
If we had only met earlier
All I can find is that excuse
And if you’re familiar with the story of Sailor Moon, well, excuse me for being such a softy but i cried! Poor Seiya-kun.
As for my web address: afureruomoi.wordpress.com, the key words are afureru and omoi.
Consistently, Omoi here is also used to pertain to “thoughts” and Afureru is “overflowing” so logically that’s overflowing thoughts.
For those who are wondering: No, i’m not Japanese.
Not in the slightest — at least not by blood/nationality/physique nor lineage.
Though my “being” yearns for the culture.
I must say though that i am not 100% obsessed with their belief/values/practices, etc.. But that doesn’t deter me from my enthusiasm in trying to learn and grasp every bit of knowledge about the country that is “the land of the rising sun”.
Perhaps it was initially due to my love of Anime; which up to now I still do! I would rather watch Anime than any live-action film/tv show, honestly.
I can’t wait to get the chance to visit Japan.
I think that the day i see a Sakura tree for real i might cry.
